Welcome booklets

We have developed booklets which contain important information to help parents and students prepare for the start of school.

Uniforms

The uniform was developed with consideration regarding gender neutrality, comfort, ease of manufacture, ease of matching colour and distinctiveness from nearby schools.

We have worked with ethical uniform suppliers to select material and styles and Summer and winter uniform options are available including dresses, jackets, jumpers, hoodies, and long-sleeved shirts. These will also be accompanied by a selection of hats, head dresses and wraps. Visit the uniform section for more details, price lists and how to order.

Stationery packs

We are pleased to welcome local Canberra business, Blue Ink, who will be supplying our School Book Packs for 2026.

The book pack contains consumables used in the classroom throughout the year. Once purchased, the entire book pack will be sent to the school in Term 1 and stored in your child's learning space.

The Back-to-School Stationery Packs will be delivered by courier in bulk to Evelyn Scott School at the start of the school year. Individual deliveries will not be available to home/office addresses. Orders placed throughout the school year will be sent to the school as they are processed.

If you are a new family and commence Evelyn Scott School throughout the year, please contact the front office to obtain a list of stationery requirements.

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)

Woden Community Services are our OSHC provider. OSHC is run out of our school gymnasium and caters for children from preschool to year 6. The team can be contacted at enrolments@wcs.org.au or by calling 0431 820 289.

Bunjis

In 2021, we asked the Evelyn Scott school community to vote for school house names and colours. We then researched a more contemporary and culturally sensitive label for 'houses'.  Principal Jackie Vaughan worked with ACT Education Directorate’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Team to select the term 'Bunji' which is defined as 'mate and/or friend' from Warlpiri and other languages from Northern Territory and Northern QLD. You will notice that these are also street names in the suburb of Denman Prospect where our school stands.

Coloured T shirts with Bunji names are available on the Workin' Gear website alongside our school uniform. You are not obligated to purchase from this provider, and you may want to source your own shirts, however we have asked our uniform provider to make them available for your convenience. Learners at Evelyn Scott School are placed into their Bunji upon enrolment and stay in this Bunji for the duration of their time at school. Siblings are always placed in the same Bunji.
