The Preschool team made the most of the mid year holiday break, showcasing the outstanding pedagogy and practice taking place within our preschool community.
During the first week of the holidays, Jo presented at the Australian Literacy Educators Association (ALEA) National Conference in Fremantle, Western Australia. Her two presentations highlighted our strong culture of writing and storytelling, exploring the theoretical foundations that underpin our approach alongside classroom examples and practical strategies that support young learners.

Jo and Nikki then travelled to Jervis Bay to present at the ACT/ NSW Outdoor Learning Conference. They shared insights from the 2025 Do You Care About Wombats? project, highlighting rich opportunities for learning on Country and the ways children were supported to develop agency, advocacy and care for local wombat populations.

The team concluded their professional learning tour by presenting at the Hedley Beare Centre for Teaching and Learning in Canberra. Sharing with local educators, they showcased the positive, community-focused transition practices that support children and families as they begin their preschool journey at ESS.

We are proud to see our Preschool team contributing to professional learning conversations at local, regional and national levels, while continuing to advocate for high-quality early childhood education.
