Professional Learning with Architects

We are exceedingly proud of our state-of-the-art facilities. Last year, we were awarded a Master Builder's Award for our school. Over the past two years, we have worked hard to establish and embed our learning model. The next stage of our journey was to examine how we are using our buildings to their full effect.
As Principal, I have connected with our school's original architects, Hayball Architects > https://www.hayball.com.au/ to set up a professional partnership. I worked together with Principals from Hayball and associated educational consultants to co-design a Professional Learning (PL) Program for our staff. This PL Program consists of one workshop per term for 2023. We began working through this PL in January 2023 and have since engaged in another workshop during Term 1.
The Evelyn Scott School Team are all really excited to participate in this outstanding training and have already learnt so much. Teachers have benefited from learning about the current research related to contemporary learning spaces. We continue to learn how to design thoughtful and functional learning environments for their classes. Teachers have selected Essential Questions to frame some action research that they will be undertaking during Term 2.
