2024 Enrolments
2024 enrolment applications for Preschool to Year 10 at Evelyn Scott School are now open. Enrolment applications are all made online via the ACT Education Directorate website.
Priority Enrolment Area
The Priority Enrolment Area (PEA) for P-6 at Evelyn Scott School in 2023/2024 includes the suburbs of Denman Prospect, Whitlam and the future suburb of Molonglo. The PEA for Years 7-10 in 2023/24 also includes the suburbs of Wright and Coombs. Changes to the PEA came into place for the start of the 2023 school year (please see below). Evelyn Scott School hosts an information session for prospective families every year, usually between May - June (dates will be posted on the front page of our school website prior to the event and on the ACT Education Directorate website. Families who are unable to attend the Information Session are able to call the school's front office on 61423491 with any questions.
For families of students in Years 11 and 12 who reside in the Molonglo Valley, the PEA College is The Canberra College
2024 Enrolments Timeline:
- 26 April 2023 (6:00am) – 2024 online enrolments opened via the ACT Education Directorate website
- 2 June 2023 (11:59pm) – Bulk round completed. Families who enrolled by this date received an offer from 24 July 2023
- Applications made after 2 June 2023 receive offers later in the year as they are submitted
- Families can enrol for 2024 at any time during the year between April 26 2023 and 31 December 2024
- December 2023 - Communication sent to families regarding 2023 school year/orientations
- Tuesday 30 January 2024 - All new ACT school students commence first day of Term 1 2024 (Kindergarten, year 7, year 11 and some preschool sessions)
- Wednesday 31 January 2024 - All students K-12 return to school.
Priority Enrolment Area Changes
Priority Enrolment Areas (PEA) are reviewed annually, with changes made where they are the most reasonable response to establish new schools or changes in population and enrolment demand. Where possible, changes are notified in advance of the opening of the prospective year enrolment cycle to provide a level of certainty for families about enrolment options and to support smooth transitions between levels of schooling.
There were some slight changes made to Evelyn Scott School’s Preschool to Year 6 PEA in 2023, detailed below.
New Evelyn Scott School High School Campus
The new Evelyn Scott School High School Campus (Year 7 to Year 10) opened in January 2023. Residents of the following suburbs are in the high school’s Priority Enrolment Area (PEA) and are guaranteed enrolment at Evelyn Scott School:
- Whitlam (all)
- Denman Prospect (all)
- Molonglo (all)
- Coombs (all)
- Wright (all)
- Whitlam will continue to be in a PEA Shared Zone between Hawker College and Canberra College.
- All other suburbs affected by this PEA change will remain in PEA for Canberra College, as has previously been the case
